The Florida Regional Reclaiming Alliance* presents…
ELEMENTS of MAGIC

…. Spend a weekend between the worlds!

It’s elemental…with the art of magic, we deepen our vision and focus our will, empowering ourselves to act in the world. In this class we develop the practice of Magic, Witchcraft, and Goddess spirituality by working with the Elements of Magic: Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Spirit, in the tradition of Starhawk and the Reclaiming Collective. Students will learn and refine techniques such as creating magical space, spellcraft, chanting, trance, energy work, and structuring rituals in an experiential format. Prerequisite: Read the first seven chapters of The Spiral Dance, or all of the Elements path in The Twelve Wild Swans by Starhawk and Hilary Valentine. This class is considered the first of the Reclaiming tradition core classes.

About Reclaiming:
Reclaiming is an ever-evolving tradition of Witchcraft that is rooted in Eco-feminism and the Feri Tradition. It is dedicated to personal empowerment, teaching and unifying spirit and politics.

About Witchcraft:
Witchcraft is a spiritual tradition that is based on remembering and recreating an earth-based way of life. Witches honor the cycles of nature, the earth and the goddesses and gods that live within each of us.

About the Teachers:

Gretchen’s Biography: Gretchen teaches at Reclaiming Witchcamps, as well as in her home community in the North Carolina Triangle area. She has served a wide community as Wise Woman, healer and teacher for more than a decade. Her spiritual practice is centered in compassionate self-care and the discipline of her body’s needs. She is a dedicated Priestess in the Temple of Order and Beauty, and a Witch of Health. Gretchen creates her home daily with her partner, Dave.

Stan’s Biography: Stan is new to the Craft, yet old to the ways. Growing up in the Ozark Mountains, he learned about the land and the traditions of a rural people. Devoted to the study of the tarot for nearly ten years, he relishes in his hermit aspect and meditative practices. His current spiritual practice is centered around building a more concrete relationship with the elemental guardians, deepening his connection to the Universe’s cycle of abundance with the aide of Sri Laxshmi and the Dagda, and exploring other realms. He has been part of the Reclaiming community for over three years and believes that teaching really makes him “the learner”.

Member Groups within the Florida Regional Reclaiming Alliance*:
(* The FRRA is an allied-community of women and men practicing magic in the Reclaiming Tradition. We are friends with the originators of the Reclaiming Tradition, but we make no claims that we ARE the originators. We just love them a-lot!)

The South East Friends of Reclaiming was formed in 1997 to bring Starhawk to North Florida for intensive retreats. The SEFR is located in Gainesville, FL. They have provided public rituals for the Solstices and Equinoxes, and hosted Reclaiming elder, Macha Nightmare for Pagan Pride Day 2000. They have participated in direct actions and held ritual at protests to demonstrate the need for responsible environmental care (Suwannee American Cement Plant on the Ichetucknee River), non-militarization of space (Cape Canaveral, FL), human rights (School of the Americas, Ft. Benning, GA), and representative government (World Bank, in D.C., and the FTAA in Quebec City).

The Magnolia Circle Recently formed group of women and men working in the Reclaiming Tradition in the Tallahassee and surrounding area. We are working to bring classes and workshops to educate in our tradition, to have Reclaiming Rituals and join forces with other Reclaiming groups to support political and environmental activism in our area.
